課程概述 |
This course provides an introduction to radar design trade-offs, antennas, transmitters, and coherent receivers. Analysis of radar signals as noise-corrupted stochastic processes, with emphasis on digital signal processing for Doppler spectrum and moment estimation. Applications of weather radars will also be introduced and discussed. |

1. Understand weather radar system, subsystems, and design trade-offs
2. Understand the acquisition process of weather data
3. Understand the statistical properties of weather signals
4. Understand and implement basic processing techniques

課程要求 |
Students should have a good grasp of vector calculus, complex variables, statistics, electricity, and magnetism. An elementary understanding and interest in the physics of the atmosphere are useful. Basic programming skills are desirable using a high-level language. |
